Doctors

Shari Cobb, DVM:

Dr. Shari Cobb has been practicing small animal medicine and surgery since 1987. After spending time as an associate veterinarian at practices in Georgia and Virginia, she, along with Dr. Jimmy Cobb, founded Winder Corners Animal Clinic in 1994. It has been her goal to provide quality medicine and care for all her patients in a compassionate and friendly manner. The growth and success of Winder Corners Animal Clinic is a testament to her achieving this goal. Dr. Shari grew up in the Atlanta area and received her BS degree in biology at the University of Georgia. She went on to attend veterinary school at the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine graduating with her DVM degree in 1987. She was married to Dr. Jimmy Cobb in 1988 (the fruition of a Vet School romance). They have two daughters, Melissa and Anna. The family pets include Cammie, a Chihuahua mix, a cat, RC, and two rats, Lucy and Chocolate. Dr. Shari enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking, water skiing and camping with the family, as well as baking and sewing when she can find the time.

Jimmy Cobb, DVM:

Dr. Jimmy Cobb has been practicing small animal medicine and surgery since 1988 with a special interest in surgery. Like Dr. Shari, he has been working since 1994 to develop Winder Corners Animal Clinic into a practice known for its care and compassion. Dr. Jimmy grew up on a farm in rural southwest Georgia where he developed his love for animals both from his experiences on the farm and from his mother who was well-known locally for rescuing and caring for wildlife. He first attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia where he obtained an Associates degree in Science. He went on to the University of Georgia and graduated with a BS in Microbiology and then attended the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine obtaining his DVM degree in 1988. In addition to happily being a part of the family described above, Dr. Jimmy also has a son, Luke, who is currently persuing a carreer in music in North Carolina. Dr. Jimmy enjoys outdoor activities including hunting and fishing and also likes to spend time working with wood.

Dr. Davison was born and raised in Atlanta and, except for three years spent working overseas with the Peace Corps, she has lived in Georgia all her life. Dr. Davison worked in veterinary hospitals in Atlanta, Royston and Athens as a technician for 10 years prior to enrolling in veterinary school. She joined the staff of WCAC in 2003 after graduating from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine that same year. She is married and has a daughter, but her first children are her Lab mix, Monty, and her fat cat, Mozart. Gail is a member of the Bethlehem First United Methodist Church. Grooming

Patty Hayes:

Patty grew up, and still lives, in Jackson County. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1974 with a BA in Interior Design. She has two daughters and a beautiful granddaughter and grandson. (Not to say her daughters aren’t beautiful, but you know how grandparents feel about grandchildren, especially the first.) Patty came to WCAC in 2000. Since that time, she has pursued an interest in grooming and has become our full-time groomer. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching movies and spending time with her family.

Hospital Oversight and Quality Control

Missy Miss:

Little Missy Miss (a.k.a mew mew, because of her unassuming squeak of a meow) was rescued from a shelter a few years ago. She was a barn cat who developed a severe ear infection which affected her vestibular systems (this tells you which way is up or down). The infection has since cleared, but her head tilt remains making her job as a barn cat difficult. It does not, however, affect her ability to jump up and down and she is, otherwise, a perfectly healthy female cat that has nothing but love for everyone she meets.

Tigger Cobb (6/11/91-11/21/09)

Tigger Cobb, 18, of Winder Corners Animal Clinic passed away on 11/21/09. An island of dignified composure amid the hustle and bustle of everyday clinic operation, he was an integral member of the Winder Corners Animal Clinic professional staff and devoted his later years to assuring that all patients received the highest level of compassion and medical care. Well known to most all WCAC patrons, he leaves behind a plethora of co-workers, companions, and friends who will miss him greatly.
